Rs 6.7 crore recovered from an autorickshaw in Hyderabad

On Wednesday morning, Hyderabad Police found over Rs. 6.70 crore cash from an auto rickshaw at Lakdi-ka-pul near the Director General of Police office. It is yet to confirm whether the cash is genuine currency or counterfeit said by the police.


Just like a normal routine the police were looking at the streets to see if any suspicious activity is happening. Traffic Police controlling the traffic of busy Hyderabad streets. “A man was riding in an auto rickshaw was shifting bags from one auto rickshaw to another”, noticed by a traffic constable. He found something suspicious hence asked the man about the issue to which man replied that the rickshaw has broken down and hence was transferring from one auto to another. The Traffic constable asked him to open the bags however a man and the rickshaw driver fled, leaving the bag and the vehicle at its place.


The man was traveling with the three bags stuffed with notes of Rs.1000 and Rs.500 denominations. Tarun Joshi, the Deputy Commissioner of Police said,” The cash is handed over to the IT department and the driver of the second auto is handed over to the Saifabad police who is interrogating him”.
